Aberdeen Airport Multi-Story Car Park
The Project
To construct a multi-story car park providing 220 spaces over three floors, adjacent to the terminal building at Aberdeen Airport.
Location – Aberdeen Airport
Client – GOLDBECK GMBH
Role – Site Health and Safety
The Problem
Aberdeen International Airport is the gateway to Europe’s energy capital, serving more than three million travellers a year. It is the world’s busiest commercial heliport, transporting more than 500,000 passengers in support of the North Sea oil and gas industry, and 600,000 between Aberdeen and Heathrow every year.
- This was the first time this German contractor had undertaken a multi-storey car park in the UK
- The proximity of the site to the terminal building.
- Maintaining access to existing short term pay and display car park
- Programme constraints, completion required in just 14 weeks.
- No scaffold to be used on the project
The Solution
SQE provided on site health and safety support.
From preparing the initial documented safety management system and translating into German and Polish through to providing ongoing support.
Weekly site inspections, audits, training and liaison with the Airport Authorities.
