Asbestos – Safe Management

Thousands of people who die every year in the UK die from diseases caused by exposure to asbestos and this may rise further in years to come. Those involved with refurbishment, repair or maintenance of buildings are particularly at risk.

If you own, occupy, manage or have responsibilities for premises, which may contain asbestos, you will either have a legal duty to manage the risk from asbestos materials or a duty to co-operate with whoever manages that risk.

This course is designed to provide those with responsibilities for maintaining a property or in control of a building with an understanding of the health risks posed by asbestos and the process of identifying, assessing and managing asbestos containing materials on their premises. The course is presented by a professional occupational hygienist with many years experience of asbestos in buildings.

The course is highly interactive and includes video and demonstration of a range of actual asbestos materials (safely contained!) collected from various buildings.
