Hand Arm Vibration

Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) is vibration which reaches your hands when working with hand-held power tools or hand-guided machinery.

Regular exposure to HAV can cause a range of permanent injuries to your hands and arms which are known as hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS)

An understanding of the principles of an HAV, causes and control measures will improve occupational health within the workforce.

The object of this course is to raise awareness on the dangers of hand held tools and to aid the development of an in-house control procedure including the selection of appropriate equipment, identifying training needs and controlling the work activities.

The course is suited to both managers and operatives, and is structured to provoke thought and discussion.
